Firefighters contained a fire near Humbug Mountain, just south of Port Orford, on Tuesday.

Jef Chase of the Coos Forest Protective Association said crews responded just after 3:00 p.m. Firefighters from CFPA, the Oregon Department of Forestry and several other agencies worked late into the evening and stopped the fire at four acres.

Crews were mopping up any remaining hotspots on Wednesday. Chase said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
