HEAT ADVISORY TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT

September 1, 2020 3:50 a.m.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect from 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through 11:00 p.m. Thursday.

A Urgent Weather Message from the National Weather Service in Medford, said high temperatures between 95 degrees and 105 degrees are expected, with warm overnight low temperatures up to 65 degrees. The advisory area includes central Douglas County along with Josephine and Jackson counties, and eastern Curry County.

The combination of warm overnight temperatures, hot daytime highs and dry conditions will make it difficult to stay hydrated and cool. The temperatures will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, especially for those working outside and for those who lack adequate cooling resources.

Forecasters said the hot temperatures will potentially continue through Labor Day weekend. The possible long duration nature of this event could affect even those who aren’t normally impacted by heat stress.
