Two people were jailed following a stolen vehicle incident on Friday afternoon.
Information from Roseburg Police said at about 3:30 p.m. a victim parked her car in front of a business on Southeast Stephens so she could run inside briefly. The report said she locked the doors but left the car running and her driver side window cracked because her dog was inside. Approximately five minutes later the woman came back outside and the vehicle was gone.
An Oregon State Police trooper spotted the vehicle driving south on Carnes Road. 36-year old Danielle Carter was driving and 36-year old Raul Rosario was the passenger. Through an investigation, it was determined that Rosario had driven the car first and the pair had later switched seats.
The victim was given a courtesy ride to pickup her vehicle and retrieve her dog.
Carter was charged with unlawful use of a vehicle and for first degree theft. She was held on $116,250 bail but was released from custody later that day. Rosario was held on charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, first degree theft and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
