It appears to be a busy agenda for the Roseburg City Council as they hold a meeting via Zoom on Monday night.
Councilors will get an update on the Southern Oregon Medical Workforce Center.
Several department items are on the agenda. That includes the consideration of extending the Declaration of Emergency in the City of Roseburg. Staff is recommending the declaration be extended through the end of this year.
Councilors will consider authorizing submission of a grant application for the Safe Routes to Schools Program for improvements to Douglas Avenue.
Councilors will vote on whether to award a consulting services contract for the Washington Avenue Bore Crossing Project to McMillen Jacobs Associates for an amount not to exceed just under $279,000.
The council will consider granting preliminary approval of the Umpqua United Soccer Club’s conceptual improvement plans for improvements to the Fir Grove Soccer Complex. The group seeks to convert one or two soccer fields in the park from grass to turf fields. The club will have to raise all the money needed for the project before it can begin construction. The vote includes authorizing staff to negotiate a new 20-year lease with the club.
Other items are on the agenda as well.
Comments regarding agenda items can be submitted by the public to City Recorder Amy Sowa by 4:00 p.m. The public can view the meeting through the City website, it’s Facebook page, and on Charter Cable Channel 191. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
