The North Umpqua Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest, will temporarily close the Mott Bridge on Tuesday August 25th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a regularly scheduled, biennial inspection.
The bridge is about a mile east of Steamboat Inn.
Umpqua National Forest Engineer Steve Marchi, said knowing the importance of the bridge to the public and residents in the area, staff has worked with an inspection company to open the bridge to traffic at set times throughout the day.
An update said to allow for traffic to cross the river at the Mott Bridge, there will be four opportunities to access the bridge beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m. and then every two hours thereafter. The update said the bridge will be opened as long as necessary to allow for waiting traffic to cross the bridge.
