COVID-19 has claimed 11 more lives, raising the state death toll to 408 as of Wednesday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 203 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 23,870. The new cases include:
*41 in Multnomah County
*30 in Marion County
*25 in Washington County
*24 in Jackson County
*15 in Clackamas County
*11 in Umatilla County
*10 in Malheur County
*9 in Jefferson County
*7 in Yamhill County
*5 in Lane County
*4 each in Deschutes and Polk counties
*3 each in Columbia and Union counties
*2 in Josephine County
*1 each in Douglas, Baker, Crook, Hood River, Klamath, Morrow, and Tillamook counties
The new deaths ranged in age from 60 to 99. 6 lived in Multnomah County, 3 lived in Clackamas County, with 1 each in Polk and Washington counties. All had underlying conditions, according to the OHA.
OHA issued its Weekly Report Wednesday, which showed that during the week of August 10th to August 16th, OHA recorded 1,963 new cases of COVID-19 infection. That is down from last week’s tally of 2,122. In addition, 31 deaths were reported down from last week’s toll of 39. During that week, the percentage of tests positive was stable at 5.4 percent. New hospitalizations fell to 115 from 143 last week.
