A Rogue River man was cited for second degree theft by Roseburg Police on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at around 1:30 p.m. the 30-year old allegedly went into Walmart and removed the security device from merchandise. He then reportedly proceeded to purchase some other items, but failed to pay for the altered item before exiting the store.

The suspect was released after the citation was issued.
