1 new person has received positive test results and there are 2 new presumptive cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County, as of Wednesday.
An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 159. Of those, 143 are people that have had positive test results and 16 are presumptive. There has been 1 death. 3 people are currently hospitalized. 2 are Douglas County patients with 1 hospitalized locally and 1 hospitalized out-of-the-area. The third is an out-of-state resident who is not reflected in the county case numbers, but is hospitalized locally. 28 people are in isolation. 8,788 people have tested negative for COVID-19 in the county.
The update said travel continues to be a contributing factor to some local cases. That includes when local residents travel out of the area and come into contact with someone that has COVID-19, and then bring it back to the county. Other times it is out of area family members coming to Douglas County to visit, who have brought the virus with them and infected their host family.
The next drive through testing clinic with the Douglas Public Health Network will be Friday in Roseburg.
