The Oregon Health Authority reported the highest daily death count since the COVID-19 pandemic began, in its release on Tuesday.
11 new deaths were reported, raising the state’s death toll to 368. 302 new confirmed and presumptive cases were announced, raising the state case total to 21,774. The new cases include:
*60 in Multnomah County
*42 in Marion County
*41 in Washington County
*23 in Clackamas County
*19 in Malheur County
*16 in Umatilla County
*12 each in Jackson and Linn counties
*9 in Josephine County
*8 in Hood River County
*6 each in Lane, Morrow and Jefferson counties
*5 each in Douglas, Columbia, Polk and Deschutes counties
*4 each in Clatsop and Yamhill counties
*3 in each Benton and Klamath counties
*2 each in Curry, Lincoln and Wasco counties
*1 each in Crook, and Union counties
The new reported deaths ranged in age from 59 to 105. 3 each lived in Marion and Clackamas counties, 2 each lived in Clackamas and Umatilla counties, with 1 in Linn County.
OHA reported an outbreak of 25 cases of COVID-19 at Smith Foods in Umatilla County. The case count includes all persons linked to the outbreak, and may include household members and other close contacts to an employee.
