A Roseburg man ran from a stolen vehicle on Riverview Drive and attempted to steal another vehicle early Monday, according to a police report.

Information from Roseburg Police said at 2:30 a.m. 37-year old Richard Siegrist allegedly tried to steal a pickup from a driveway in the 1400 block of Katie Drive after breaking out the back window with a rock. The man was detained by officers before he could start the vehicle.

Siegrist was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine as well.

Charges included attempted unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, first degree criminal mischief, second degree criminal trespass, and for unlawful possession of meth.

Siegrist was initially detained on $137,750 bail. He was released from custody later in the day.
