A motorcycle rider was hurt after a collision with a deer on Sunday night.

Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 9:00 p.m. a deputy was sent to the accident in the 2300 block of South Umpqua Road in Tiller. A man was found lying in the middle of the road with a motorcycle and the deer nearby.

The report said medics took the 19-year old victim to a helipad where REACH Air Ambulance transported the victim to Rogue Regional Medical Center.

A witness said the deer ran right in front of the man, ultimately causing the crash.
