The Roseburg City Council is meeting Monday night with a light agenda.
Councilors will consider three department items.
Councilors will vote on allowing the fire department to purchase a breathing air compressor. Notes from staff said it is used to recharge the department’s self-contained breathing apparatus air tanks. The compressor will cost just over $53,000.
A vote will be taken on directing staff to begin the process of preparing draft municipal code language related to temporary shelters and other temporary housing.
The council is also being asked to give staff direction on which meeting format to use for the public input procedures related to the council goal of exploring strategies to address issues related to unhoused individuals in the community.
The meeting will be held via Zoom. Public comments can be emailed to City Recorder Amy Sowa by 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The meeting can be seen through the City website, its Facebook page or on Charter Cable Channel 191.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
