MYRTLE CREEK MAN HURT AFTER VEHICLE CRASHES THROUGH FENCE

A Myrtle Creek man was hurt after his vehicle crashed through a fence Thursday night.

Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 9:45 p.m. the 24-year old was headed south on North Old Pacific Highway. The report said the accident happened while the man was trying to pass in the center lane. A power pole and several other things were damaged. The report said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the wreck.

The driver was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Pacific Power said damage to the pole was estimated to be over $20,000. Citations are pending, according to DCSO.
