The test positivity rate for COVID-19 in Oregon has risen and the latest week of data shows one of the highest rates since early in the pandemic.
On Monday, the Oregon Health Authority released its weekly testing summary. 35,424 test results were reported during the week of July 26th through August 1st. Of those results, 2,174 were positive, indicating a test positivity of 6.1 percent.
As of August 1st, Oregon’s cumulative positive testing rate is 4.4 percent of tests performed. OHA said this is considerably lower than the national rate of 10 percent.
The release said OHA continues to receive widespread reports of extended turnaround time from commercial laboratories. In some cases, results are being reported up to two weeks following specimen collection.
