MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT

A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged sexual harassment incident on Thursday night.

A report from Roseburg Police said at about 10:30 p.m. 39-year old Stephen Johnson was at a residence in the 1000 block of Northwest Keasey Street sitting around a fire when an adult female went to the kitchen and he followed her. The report said Johnson reportedly grabbed the female from behind, by squeezing her buttocks area. The woman pushed Johnson away and was kicking at him and punching at him when he continued to grab her. The report said as the woman tried to get away, Johnson threw her onto a bed, which was allegedly witnessed by another guest.

The report said the man rode away from the scene on a bicycle. When confronted by officers, he ran after being told he was under arrest. Johnson was ultimately tased and arrested without further incident.

Charges include sexual harassment, harassment, second degree criminal trespass, and for third degree escape. Bail was set at $16,250.
