MOTORCYCLIST SERIOUSLY HURT IN AZALEA ACCIDENT

A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in an accident in Azalea on Tuesday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 7:45 a.m. a 32-year old motorist was making a left turn into his driveway in the 4,000 block of Azalea Glen Road. The man said he didn’t see the motorcycle approaching until it was too late. The man said that sun glare from his mirror blinded him momentarily.

The 49-year old motorcyclist had an obvious broken leg but was responsive. He was wearing a helmet. The man was life-flighted to Rogue Regional Hospital in Medford.

The motorist was cited for making a dangerous left turn.
