MAN CITED AFTER STORE INCIDENT

Roseburg Police cited a man on several counts following an incident at a store on Tuesday night.

Information from Roseburg Police said at 9:00 p.m. officers responded to Anderson Place Market on West Harvard regarding a customer that had started a physical disturbance with an employee.

The employee said a 55-year old man had pushed him and ripped his shirt inside the store. Officers contacted the suspect near the store and he ran out into the roadway to try and get away from them. The man was quickly detained without incident.

The report said the suspect was allegedly upset over the store not cashing in his cans and he refused to leave. The employee claimed the suspect began grabbing everything off the shelves and throwing it on the ground.

Steven Birdsell was cited for harassment, second degree counts of criminal trespass and criminal mischief and for third degree counts of theft and criminal mischief. He was released after being cited.
