The Douglas County St. Vincent de Paul Society will be distributing food boxes on Tuesday, in three locations.

In Roseburg food boxes will be available in the main parking lot of St. Joseph Church at the corner of West Harvard and Stewart Parkway beginning at 7:30 a.m. In Sutherlin the food boxes will be given out at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store starting at 8:00 a.m. In Myrtle Creek food will be available in the parking lot near the covered bridge south of Millsite Park, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

A release said the boxes are part of a grant that the Catholic Church in western Oregon received to help those in need. Residents can simply come to one of the locations and open their trunk, and the food will be placed inside.

St. Vincent de Paul said their goal is to serve the poor and disadvantaged in the community by providing emergency assistance for utilities, household and personal items for anyone in need.

The local office of the organization is on the campus of St. Joseph Catholic Church. It is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Call 580-0680 for an appointment.
