A Roseburg man was cited after an incident downtown early Thursday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at 2:00 a.m. officers attempted to contact a 23-year old man and his friend after reports came in that they were being disorderly. The second man stopped and talked with the officer but the first man took off running away from the scene.

The suspect was located in the backyard of a residence in the 700 block of Southeast Kane, after he jumped a seven-foot chain link fence.

The man was cited for second degree criminal trespassing and then was released.
