COVID-19 CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 271 AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 271 as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 264 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 15,393. The new cases include:

*51 in Multnomah County

*45 in Washington County

*31 in Marion County

*24 each in Clackamas and Umatilla counties

*13 in Malheur County

*11 in Jackson County

*8 in Deschutes County

*6 each in Lane, Linn, Klamath and Jefferson counties

*4 each in Hood River, Polk and Yamhill counties

*3 each in Coos, Benton and Morrow counties

*2 each in Douglas, Crook and Lincoln counties

*1 each in Baker, Clatsop, Curry, Grant, Josephine and Wasco counties

Oregon’s 270th COVID-19 death is a 77-year old man in Umatilla County who tested positive on July 9th and died on July 20th at his residence.

Oregon’s 271st COVID-19 death is an 82-year old man in Umatilla County who tested positive on July 16th and died on July 21st at Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston.

The update said during the week of July 13th-19th there were 2,409 new cases of COVID-19 in Oregon, an increase of 26 percent from the previous week.
