COVID-19 CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 262 AS OF MONDAY

COVID-19 claims 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 262 as of Monday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 277 new and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 14,847. The new cases include:

*85 in Multnomah County

*41 in Umatilla County

*38 in Washington County

*30 in Marion County

*19 in Deschutes County

*11 in Clackamas County

*10 in Malheur County

*7 in Jefferson County

*6 in Yamhill County

*5 each in Jackson and Klamath counties

4 in Lane County

*2 each in Douglas, Hood River, Josephine, Lincoln and Clatsop counties

*1 each in Harney, Lake, Morrow, Crook and Polk counties

Oregon’s 261st COVID-19 death is a 76-year old man in Marion County who tested positive on June 22nd and died on July 17th at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Oregon’s 262nd COVID-19 death is a 92-year old man in Marion County who tested positive on July 8th and died on July 18th in his residence.

Both had underlying medical conditions, according to the OHA.

The report said several major manufacturers have informed OHA that testing supply allocations are being or may be reduced over the next six to eight weeks due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases nationally. OHA is also receiving widespread reports of extended turnaround time from commercial laboratories. In some cases, results are being reported two weeks following specimen collection. The update said OHA will continue to monitor “this concerning situation”.
