MAN JAILED FOLLOWING TWO HOURS OF NEGOTIATIONS

A Roseburg man was jailed following two hours of negotiations with Roseburg Police on Tuesday.

Information from RPD said at around 12:00 p.m. a 28-year old went to a house in the 1500 block of Northwest Keasey, in violation of a no-contact order. The victim called police and when the suspect found out, he began to hold a knife to his throat and threatened to kill himself.

The report said the man held the knife the entire time negotiations were taking place. The suspect eventually put the knife down peacefully.

He was charged with violation of a no contact order and was taken into custody.
