With experts saying that the Pacific Northwest could be in for a busy wildfire season, the American Red Cross is seeking volunteers.

Red Cross Regional Disaster Officer Rebecca Marshall said “the coronavirus pandemic will make it challenging to deploy trained disaster volunteers from other parts of the country should a large emergency occur in Oregon or southwest Washington”. Marshall is asking residents to get trained now so they are ready to help if the need arises.

Volunteers could be needed for helping with shelters and for health services support.
