A large pile of railroad ties caught on fire in Green early Wednesday morning.

Information from Douglas County Fire District No. 2 said the fire was spotted at around 5:30 a.m. and was next to the railroad near a business in the 4300 block of Highway 99 South. Multiple crews from District No. 2 and from the Winston-Dillard Fire Department responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
