Fire Marshal Monte Bryan of the Roseburg Fire Department said the professional fireworks show on Saturday night led to a fire on the north end of Reservoir Hill.

Bryan said crews were able to contain it and keep it from spreading past the grassy hill where it started. Bryan said the fire was between 2 and 2.5 acres in size, and burned mostly on City owned property.

The hillside fire began a few minutes after the fireworks show had gotten underway just after 10:00 p.m.
