A Myrtle Creek man was jailed for methamphetamine possession and a warrant on Wednesday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 1:30 p.m. a deputy saw 41-year old Courtney Mitchell walking in 4900 block of Azalea Glen Road in Azalea. The deputy had a probable cause warrant for the suspect for theft by receiving from a prior case. The report said the man’s parole officer was contacted and Mitchell admitted to meth use the previous day. When the man was searched, a bindle of meth was allegedly found in his possession.
He was charged with unlawful possession of meth, for theft by receiving and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
