Oregon had the largest single daily case count since the COVID-19 pandemic began, on Thursday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 375 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 9,294. COVID-19 claimed one more life, raising the state death toll to 209.
The new reported cases include:
*88 in Umatilla County
*67 in Washington County
*64 in Multnomah County
*32 in Marion County
*22 in Clackamas County
*16 in Malheur County
*15 each in Jackson and Lane counties
*9 in Deschutes County
*8 each in Jefferson, Josephine, and Morrow counties
*5 each in Union and Yamhill counties
*3 each in Lincoln and Linn counties
*2 each in Douglas and Wasco counties
*1 each in Columbia, Crook and Tillamook counties
Oregon’s 209th COVID-19 death is a 73-year old woman in Klamath County who tested positive on June 20th and died on June 30th. She had underlying medical conditions, according to the OHA.
The update said Oregon has experienced five weeks of case growth and cases are rising faster in rural communities in central and eastern Oregon.
Earlier this week, Governor Kate Brown ordered face coverings to be worn in all indoor public places throughout the state as one way to contain the spread of COVID-19, according to the OHA.
