Covering coastal Douglas County:

Officials with the Coos Forest Protective Association are offering advice for residents of coastal areas for the 4th of July.

An update from Jef Chase of CFPA said residents should remember that fire season and regulated use restrictions are in effect. Those who plan to use fireworks should remember:

*Use of fireworks outside of city limits is prohibited

*Residents should only use fireworks that are legal for use in Oregon

*Always have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher immediately available

*Always use fireworks as intended by the manufacturer. Never modify or alter them
