Crews with Douglas County Fire District No. 2 dealt with a structure fire northwest of Roseburg on Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported just before 5:15 p.m. in the 10,000 block of Garden Valley Road. A release said when crews arrived on the scene, they found fire on the porch extending to an exterior wall of a home. All six of the home’s occupants were able to reach safety prior to the arrival of firefighters.

The release said the initial crew was able to extinguish the fire quickly. An additional crew entered the house to check for extension. An initial investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was likely accidental.
