A 29-year old woman was jailed for felony hit and run by Sutherlin Police on Friday night.

Captain Kurt Sorensen said about 5:20 p.m. officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Calapooia and Central Avenue. He said that it was reported that a pickup had hit two vehicles in the intersection, and fled the scene. At least two people were transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance, with non-life-threatening issues. Their condition is not available.

Sorensen said that citizens reported the suspect vehicle was driving recklessly at high rates of speed on Del Rio headed towards Garden Valley. The report said the pickup turned onto Independence Drive and struck a fence. It was unable to turn around. Police contacted Devon Sisk. After a short investigation she was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The report said her blood alcohol level was .27, which is over three times the legal limit for impairment.

Sorenson said it was later determined that the woman didn’t have permission to drive the pickup. Charges were added including reckless driving, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and the hit and run charge. Bail was set at $172,500.
