A Roseburg man was jailed after two incidents which allegedly took place Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon.
A report from Roseburg Police said 25-year old Nicholas Bragg and a 38-year old man had reportedly gotten into a physical disturbance where the younger was man assaulted and sustained injuries. On Wednesday at around 2:00 p.m., Bragg saw the other man riding his bike in a parking lot area in the 1600 block of Southeast Stephens. He allegedly drove directly at the other man, who was forced to jump off his bike to avoid being hit. The older man sustained a sprained ankle when he jumped and was nearly hit by the younger man’s vehicle
The report said Bragg then drove over the other man’s bike, destroying it in the process. The older man was able to escape and ran from Bragg. The report said the suspect circled the parking lot, then drove over the bike again. He was arrested a few blocks away, without incident.
Bragg was taken to Mercy Medical Center to be medically cleared from the injuries he sustained the previous night, before being taken to jail. He was charged with a felony count of failure to perform the duties of a driver, and for second degree counts of attempted assault and criminal mischief. Bail was set at $156,250.
