Staff with Roseburg Public Library are getting ready to reopen the facility in phases.

The reopening will begin on Tuesday June 30th. Changes will be implemented as part of the reopening process.

Library Director Kris Wiley said they are excited to welcome patrons back into the building. Wiley said, “we thank everyone for their patience during this difficult time”. She said, “we know it has been hard, but we can’t wait to see our friends again.

Each phase of the reopening involves changes to operating hours and levels of services that will be provided.

Phase One will run from June 30th through July 11th. During this time, the library will be open on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Due to limited staff and to ensure adequate social distancing, only 50 patrons are allowed inside the library at one time. Patrons are limited to one hour in the library, and face masks are strongly encouraged. Volunteers will not be available and donations will not be accepted.

During Phase Two from July 14th through July 25th, the library will stay open Tuesdays until 6:00 p.m., open at 1:00 p.m. on Thursdays, with Saturday’s hours remaining the same. A limited number of volunteers may work inside the library during hours it is not open. Donations will be accepted from the public.

In Phase Three from July 14th to July 25th, the library will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, open at 11:00 a.m. on Thursdays, with Saturday hours staying the same. More volunteers may be asked to work during hours the library is not open.

Depending on the success of each phase, the library may choose to change any or all of the timelines. Updates on reopening will be posted at www.cityofroseburg.org.

Drive-up pickup service will continue throughout the phased reopening of the library. Every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. patrons can pickup reserved books, while remaining in their vehicles. To arrange for this service, call the library at 492-7050.
