COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, with the state death toll at 182 as of Tuesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 278 new confirmed and presumptive cases, bringing the state total to 6,098. That is the highest daily case count since the pandemic began, eclipsing the record set on Monday. The new and confirmed cases include:

*119 in Union County

*42 in Multnomah County

*37 in Washington County

*22 in Marion County

*21 in Clackamas County

*17 in Lincoln County

*8 in Klamath County

*2 each in Morrow and Yamhill counties

*1 each in Crook, Hood River, Jackson, Jefferson, Josephine, Lane, Umatilla, and Wasco counties.

Oregon’s 181st COVID-19 death is an 89-year old man in Clackamas County, who tested positive on June 13th and died on June 15th in his residence.

Oregon’s 182nd COVID-19 death is an 85-year old woman in Marion County, who tested positive on June 11th and died on June 13th at Salem Hospital.

Both had underlying medical conditions, according to the OHA.

The update said the newest numbers are consistent with a recent trend of more cases in the state. The increase in cases is due to workplace outbreaks as well as potential spread in the community, not tied to a known case.
