Election season is underway at the City of Roseburg and candidates who wish to run for city council can request nomination petition forms from City Recorder Amy Sowa.
Several positions on the council are up for re-election. That includes Position 2 in all four wards for terms expiring at the end of 2024. Ward 2, Position 1 is up for a two-year term expiring at the end of 2022. The office of mayor is also up for a two-year term expiring at the same time.
Candidates who run for mayor must obtain fifty signatures from registered voters in the city. Those running for a council seat, have to get twenty signatures from voters who live in their ward.
