A pair of two-year old red pandas have arrived at Wildlife Safari.
Village Supervisor Sara Healas said the pandas came all the way from the Virginia Zoo. Remi and Freddie love apples and grapes, and Freddie is especially fond of bananas, according to Healas.

A release said the pandas were born to Masu and Timur in Virginia, and joined the Species Survival Plan. That’s a network of parks working together to help save animals from extinction. Red pandas are currently listed as endangered in the wild.
Executive Director Dan Van Slyke said the non-profit game park is excited to bring the pandas to Douglas County. They will live in the Village near the gator house exhibit. He said they can be seen for during the park’s normal hours which are currently 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. seven days a week.
