A Portland man was jailed on multiple counts after a disturbance in Canyonville Tuesday afternoon.
Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 4:30 p.m. a report came in regarding a reckless driver after an incident at Canyon Market. The report said the 57-year old suspect was located at Pickett Park where another disturbance took place. The report said the man drove reckless in the park and rolled his van by the boat ramp. When he was contacted, the man allegedly had a sword and was intoxicated.
The report said the man wouldn’t stop beating his head again the cage in the police vehicle and was bleeding all over. He was eventually transferred to an ambulance for transport.
Paul Baker was charged with DUII, reckless driving, first degree criminal mischief, for refusing a blood test and for being a registered sex offender. Bail was initially set at $116,250.
