A Lakeside man was jailed early Monday following two alleged assault incidents.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said a victim had reported to a family member that 58-year old Michael Miller had assaulted her in February and again on May 26th. The victim said the suspect had left for Montana after the second assault
The victim told the deputy that in the first incident the man kicked her in the shins repeatedly and held a wooden chair above his head, threatening to hit her and kill her with it. The victim said in the second incident, Miller had struck her with his fists and kicked her multiple times. She said he then hit her in the face with a pillow several times before holding it over her face and restricting her ability to breath. The report said the victim had injuries consistent with her description.
The report said Miller showed up while the deputy was talking to the victim and was very upset with the deputy’s presence. He was not cooperative with the deputy.
Charges include two counts of fourth degree assault, harassment, strangulation, harassment and for unlawful use of a weapon. Bail was set at $80,000
