The Riverbend Live summer concert series is suspended for 2020.
A release from the board of directors for the non-profit organization, said the action was taken due to the limit on in-person gatherings in Oregon for the coming months.
Begun by Dick and Mo Nichols in 1997, the series, held at Riverbend Park in Winston, has featured a five-event season embracing various genres of music, a night of cowboy poetry and western music, and a youth theater production.
Mo Nichols said, “the board is heartbroken to not be able to provide the outdoor shows this summer”. Nichols said they are working on potential alternative programming for those Friday’s in July, that does not involve holding in person concerts.
