Longtime incumbent Peter DeFazio will face Roseburg’s Alek Skarlatos in the race for the 4th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Both had easy wins in primary voting on Tuesday. DeFazio got 84 percent of the votes while challenger Doyle Elizabeth Canning who received 15 percent.
Skarlatos got 86 percent of the Republican vote while Nelson Ijih got nearly 13 percent.
DeFazio said, “I pledge to fight for issues that matter the most to Oregon families and to help our country move through and recover from the COVID-19 crisis”.
Skarlatos said, “we plan on taking this great momentum into the general election”.
