The deadline for paying third trimester property taxes is Friday.
Information from the Douglas County Tax Collection Office said the payment must be received or postmarked no later than Friday to avoid interest and penalties.
The office is in room 205 of the courthouse. There is also a “Tax Drop Box” located in the hallway outside the office. A tax payment drop box is located outside at the bottom of the courthouse steps as well. Payment can also be made online at www.co.douglas.or.us using a credit or debit card or an e-check. There are transaction fees for paying online.
Those planning to come and pay inside the courthouse need to remember that very strict social distancing procedures are in place. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
