A Myrtle Creek man was jailed on first degree burglary and other charges on Wednesday night.
A report from Roseburg Police said on Tuesday, officers responded to a burglary at an apartment on West Agee. The victim said someone had entered her apartment using a key that had been hidden. She said someone had stolen $3,500 that had been hidden in the residence.
The victim suspected that her estranged husband, who she had a restraining order against, had committed the crime. Three other witnesses reported seeing a man that matched his description, leaving the apartment.
Wednesday night two Myrtle Creek Police officers arrested 38-year old Christopher McGuire for a restraining order violation before he was transferred to the Roseburg Police Department, where the additional burglary and third-degree criminal mischief charges were added.
Bail was initially set at $256,250. McGuire was released from custody on Thursday.
