With the May Primary Election now less than one week away, Douglas County Clerk Dan Loomis said ballots should be taken to drop box sites, located around the county.
Loomis told News Radio 1240 KQEN its no longer safe to assume the U.S. Postal Service will get ballots to the Election’s Office by the 8:00 p.m. deadline on May 19th. Loomis said there are 13 drop box sites. Their locations are listed on the elections website which is linked with this story at www.541radio.com: http://www.co.douglas.or.us/clerk/elections.asp
As of Tuesday afternoon, Loomis said 17.35 percent of registered voters had cast their ballot. That means 15,450 ballots have come back in. That is 4 percent ahead of the same time in 2018, but 6.6. percent behind the level of voting in the May 2016 presidential election.
