A Los Angeles man was jailed following a strangulation incident on Wednesday.
A report from Roseburg Police said at about 8:50 a.m. 21-year old Betuel Xovin allegedly grappled with and strangled a female victim he was staying with at the Days Inn on Garden Valley.
The report said the man then fled on foot and was later found hiding underneath a dumpster behind J.C. Penney in the Garden Valley Shopping Center.
Xovin was charged with strangulation and harassment. He was detained on $8,750 bail.
