DOUGLAS COUNTY PARKS AND RV PARKS WILL REOPEN MAY 1ST

April 29, 2020 3:40 a.m.
Douglas County operated parks and RV parks will reopen on Friday May 1st.
A release from the Douglas County Commissioners said the facilities will reopen on a limited basis.
Despite the reopening, residents are encouraged to follow the Governor’s “Stay Home, Save Lives” Executive Order. The release said outdoor recreational sites provide a role in keeping residents mentally and physically healthy. It said the parks have the capacity to allow people to get out and rejuvenate, while remaining dispersed. The release stressed that if use restrictions are not followed, it could lead to the re-closing of the parks.
Parking fees will be in place. Physical distancing of 6 feet is required and the use of masks is recommended. There should be no groups of users. People should be there as individuals, couples or family units only.
Those going to parks are asked to have their own soap, hand sanitizer or disinfectant wipes. All pavilions, gazebos and playgrounds will remain closed. Picnic tables and other park amenities will not be sanitized. Some park’s restrooms will be sanitized while others will not.
At the county’s RV parks, group sites, cabins and yurts will remain closed. The RV parks will only be open to Oregonians.
