Two people were arrested after a police chase on Thursday afternoon.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 4:40 p.m. a deputy saw 35-year old David Myers driving a pickup on Pruner Road in Riddle and knew him to be driving while suspended.
The report said the deputy tried to stop the vehicle but Myers took off, driving recklessly in an attempt to get away. The driver and the passenger, 40-year old Tabitha Stimpson allegedly switched seats while traveling at a high rate of speed, nearly crashing off the road.
The pickup was finally stopped near the corner of Park and Fifth in Riddle. Both were charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and for a parole violation. Myers was also charged with driving while suspended. Myers was detained without bail while Stimpson was booked and released later on Thursday.
