CANCER CENTER EXPANDS SERVICES TO PATIENTS

The Community Cancer Center is expanding services offered to cancer patients while supporting the Governor’s Stay Home Save Lives executive order by offering virtual patient appointments.
Executive Director Tammy Turner said “continued enhancement of the healthcare services we provide to our patients remains of principal importance during these unprecedented times”. She said the center has implemented a video conferencing venue, TeleHealth. This system will allow patients to visit with their oncology doctor, or a member of the nursing team, without leaving their home. Turner said beyond the convenience aspect, TeleHealth allows for enhanced patient care by providing more timely and meaningful conversations between the patient and the medical team.
Patients participating in the TeleHealth program can schedule a virtual appointment and communicate in a private video chat. Turner said the video appointment is safe, secure, and all communication is HIPA compliant.
