WILDLIFE SAFARI CROSS FOSTERING CHEETAH CUBS

April 14, 2020 3:35 a.m.
Wildlife Safari is cross fostering cheetah cubs in need.
General Curator Dan Brands said the game park in Winston is helping a facility in Texas. Brands said when one mother can’t or won’t rear her cubs properly for one reason or another, its vital to step in and make sure that those cubs make it to adulthood to help support breeding populations.
Brands said Delta, who recently welcomed a litter of 4 cubs of her own, made a prime candidate to help cross foster the 2 cubs which came to Wildlife Safari over the weekend. He said all 6 cubs are nursing and there have been no issues in working with them.
Currently the new cheetah family is off display in the “Lover’s Lane” area of the park, but the public can get to know Delta and all the cubs during 11:00 a.m. Facebook Live sessions every Monday.
