Roseburg Public Schools launched a new website on Monday.
An RPS release said the site uses a platform that allows for easy navigation, has a mobile-friendly design, improved accessibility and a modern layout. The release said it “aligns with the district’s goals to provide the best education possible to students”.
The release said the district has been working over the past few months to overhaul the website with the hope of improving communication with students, families and the community. The launch was temporarily postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and school closures. Officials decided to move forward with the launch on Monday due to the growing need for efficient digital communication abilities, according to the release.
The website address is still www.roseburg.k12.or.us. New school subsites will have a similar format, which is posted with this story at www.541.radio.com (Example: https://melrose.roseburg.k12.or.us.) All individual school websites will now be directed to the new subsites that exist under the district site.
The release said school subsites will follow the same outline as the district site, but are personalized for each school. It said the goal in switching to this concept is to promote equality among schools and to provide staff with additional and enhanced ways to communicate with their students and families.
The district will be adding information and features to the site in the coming weeks.
