ODOT PAVING PROJECT BETWEEN ROSEBURG AND SUTHERLIN

April 6, 2020 10:15 a.m.
The Oregon Department of Transportation is making preparations for a project that will pave Interstate Five between Roseburg’s Garden Valley interchange, and the main exit in Sutherlin.
Dan Latham from ODOT said work will include replacing signs, guardrail and some sections of cable barrier. All work is scheduled to take place at night.
Latham said that starting this week, the contractor will begin placing construction signs along the project area at night. Guardrail work will begin later this month with paving likely to begin around late May. All paving and striping work is scheduled to be completed by late September, though some work may continue into the fall.
Latham said most of the area was last paved in 2004. A one-mile section of the freeway around the Del Rio interchange that was paved in 2012 is still in good condition and will not be paved.
Oregon Mainline Paving of McMinnville was awarded the contact with a bid of just under $12.7 million.
