Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency have announced that President Donald Trump has approved a Major Disaster Declaration for Oregon.
The FEMA release said aid will supplement the state, tribes, and local recovery efforts in the areas that have been affected by COVID-19.
The release said federal funding is available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency protective measures including direct federal assistance under Public Assistance. The funding is for all areas affected by COVID-19 at a federal cost share of 75 percent.
Michael F. O’Hare has been named the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery efforts in Oregon. He is the FEMA regional administrator for this area.
